Eligibility criteria for MBBS course
A pass in 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the Medical Council of India with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study, with atleast 50% marks in aggregate of optional subjects.
The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission.
Admission under NRI quota
The admission under the NRI category is based on merit in the qualifying examination taking into consideration, marks secured in the core subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Foreign nationals are also considered for admission under this quota.
Students seeking admission under the NRI category should submit a separate application to the college in the prescribed format, available at the University office, Mangalore or from the website www.nitteuniversity.ac.in along with the attested photocopies of the following documents:
10th Std. marks card/pass certificate (for proof of date of birth)
10+2 marks card
Transfer certificate from the institution last attended
Passport and student visa
Passport and Employer"s certificate as proof of NRI status (if the candidate has studied in India)
A demand draft for Rs.650/- towards registration fee favoring Nitte University, payable at Mangalore.
The payment of fee shall be from the Non Resident External (N.R.E) account of the parent.
The admission under the General merit category will be through the process of centralised single window counselling on the basis of merit(rank) obtained in the All India Entrance Test, NU UGET conducted by Nitte University.
As per the regulations of the statutory bodies, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test to be eligible for admission to the MBBS course shall be 50% for General Category candidates.

Commencement of course
The course commences as per the date prescribed by the University, most likely during the first week of August. The exact date will be communicated by the Institution.

Valid passport and student visa for the period of study. (Original must be shown for verification. 5 duly-attested photocopies must be produced.)
Proof of employment of the parent – Original
Attested photocopy of the passport of the parent (if the student has studied in India)
Additional documents to be produced for Foreign nationals only
Valid passport and student visa for the period of study. (Original must be shown for verification. 5 duly-attested photocopies must be produced.)
Letter of sponsorship if applicable – Original + 5 copies
*Residential permit from the local SP and FRO
*No objection certificate issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India
* These will be processed once the student reports at the University/Institution.
Eligibility criteria for M.D - M.S
The minimum qualification for admission to the postgraduate program is a MBBS degree or an equivalent degree recognised by the University and MCI.
The postgraduate programs namely, Doctor of Medicine (M.D) & Master of Surgery (M.S) are of 3 years duration and are offered in the following specialities:

Application forms are available at the University office at Mangalore. The same can also be downloaded from the website www.nitteuniversity.ac.in . The duly filled-in application form should be forwarded along with the copies of requisite documents accompanied by a DD for Rs.1,500/- favoring Nitte University payable at Mangalore.
