KJ Somaiya Medical College is a medical college in the heart of Mumbai, Maharashtra , India.  KJ Somaiya Medical College and Research Centre was founded in the year 1991 by Padmabhushan (late) Pujya Shri.Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and a visionary.

 KJ Somaiya Medical College and Research Centre is affiliated to ‘The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik And Recognize by Medical Council of India (MCI).

The college is associated with KJ Somaiya Hospital & Research Centre offers affordable healthcare services in various disciplines to society and participates in National Health Programmes.

It is situated in the Somaiya Ayurvihar Complex which is located on a 22.5 acre campus in the heart of city of Mumbai at Sion on Eastern Express Highway and is managed by the Somaiya Trust.

The sapling of Medical College has grown over the years and now has around 145 qualified experienced teaching faculty and 104 Resident Doctors working in 21 well equipped departments.

The College runs Undergraduate course of MBBS and Postgraduate Courses in Pediatrics(M.D.) and Obstetrics and Gynaecology (M.S.). A Teaching Hospital (K.J.SOMAIYA HOSPITAL & RESEARCH CENTRE) of 500 beds in the same campus serves to provide practical experience to Medical students, offers  affordable healthcare services in various disciplines to society and participates in National Health Programmes. 

A separate workshop is situated in the campus for routine repairs and maintenance of equipment.  It has 24 skilled workers and providing services of Carpenter, electricians, Motor Mechanic, Technicians, Service Engineer, Foreman, Black Smith, Helper, Plumber etc. A diesel operated 180 KV Generator is used in emergency in case of power breakdown. Workshop is equipped with all necessary machines.

The courses offered at this institute are MBBS, MD in pediatrics, MS in obstetrics & gynaecology and Anatomy. The institute also offers PG diploma in Medical Lab Technology, besides the DNB course. The college came into existence in the year 1991 and this medical institute has a great academic record.
