Infrastructure:

The Medical College campus is very big and numerous buildings can be seen springing up. There are huge separate buildings for MBBS, BDS and a whole lot of other medical courses like physiotherapy, homeopathy, Ayurveda and nursing. There two boys and two girls hostels in the campus. The classrooms are roomy, the library has enough number of books and the reading room is open right from 6 am to 11:30 pm. “It’s superb”, says a students and it cannot be denied!

 Faculty:

The faculty is excellent - senior experienced teachers. Visiting faculty includes professors from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) one of the best in the country.

Attendance:

The college is strict about the attendance requirement and students are needed to attend at least 70% of the lectures and practical’s for their internal marks not to be affected. “That much discipline is needed,” says a student. “After all they are producing doctors”.

Crowd:

The crowd is a good blend of study-oriented and not-too-study-oriented people. Students come from all over the country be it Delhi or Rajasthan. Gujarat’s and Maharashtra’s form at least 50% of the crowd.

Hangouts:

There is a McDonald’s nearby, where students often hang out. Other than this, there is Big Cinema, E-square, and something called Dakshin. “RR ki Tapri” right outside the campus is a favorite of the students and they are found to munch on hot “pohe” and cold coffee every morning.

Canteen:

The canteen is meant only for snacks which the students generally manage from the food stalls outside. Mess food is of average quality and can be managed.

Activities:

Various workshops, seminars and guest lecturers related to academic topics are organized throughout the year. Besides the co curricular activities, Annual day is celebrated every year.

Verdict:

The great infrastructure facilities and excellent faculty make it one of the good choices. However, the biggest downside the students face is of huge fees and bad administration. In addition, the college is not under MUHS but under DY Patil University.
