Sri Siddhartha Medical College
(SSMC) was started in the year 1988 by Sri Siddhartha Educational Society
(SSES). The Medical College and hospital is located in the outskirts of Tumkur
city – 6 km from the city amidst green field in a vast campus of 220 acres of
the side of Bangalore – Honnavar national highway and it is just 76 Km from
Bangalore city connected by road and railway.

Facilities
SSMC Hospital has separate building
for OPD and causality with independent departments of Medicine, Surgery, OBG,
Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Paediatrics, ENT, Dermatology, and Radiology. It is
a 1350-bedded hospital, fully equipped with 12 major operation theaters in
addition to minor operation theaters. SSMC is catering the needs of rural
population. There are skilled doctors with specially trained nurses to give a

Admissions
Admissions to U.G and P.G courses shall be made on
an All India basis to the identical courses in all deemed-to-be universities
through a Common Entrance Test conducted by UGC or by an Institution / Agency
identified and approved by the UGC. This shall also apply to those
institutions, which have already been given the deemed-to-be university status.

• Admission Eligibility: Admission Eligibility
The candidate shall have passed the two year P.U.C
examination conducted by P.U Board, Karnataka State with English, Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects or any other examinations
recognized as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Or the
first year of three year degree course of a Recognized University with Physics,
Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the
examination i.e. a "University Examinations"
B.Sc with physics, chemistry and biology (botany and
zoology) or Chemistry, botany and Zoology exam of an Indian university,
provided that he has passed the B.Sc examination and has passed the B.Sc
Examination and has secured at least 50% in any of the two subjects studied at
the degree level and he has passed the earlier qualifying examination with
physics, chemistry, biology and English
Any other examination which in scope and standard is
found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian
university / board, taking physics, chemistry and biology including a practical
test in each of these subjects and English the candidate shall have obtained
not less than 50% for general candidates
The candidate should have to complete 17 years on
31st December of the year of admission.
• Duration of the Course: Admission &
Eligibility - MBBS
Each candidate shall undergo a period of certified
study extending over 4 1/2 academic years from the date of commencement of his tidy
for the subject comprising the examination followed by one-year compulsory Rotation
internship.
The first 12 months shall be occupied in the study
of the phase no student and I (Pre clinical) Subjects shall be permitted to
join the phase –II (Para-clinical). Group of Subjects until he has passed in
all Phase I. Subjects
After passing pre clinical subjects, 3 1/2 years
shall be devoted to clinical subjects. During the first 18 months of this
period Para-clinical subjects to be studied collaterally.
